Terms of Service

1. These terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Yohanes Marthin Hutabarat, the individual who operates Crosswold, based in Depok, Indonesia ("we"), about your use of Crosswold — the website and the iOS and Android apps. By playing, creating an account, or publishing a board you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Crosswold.

If you are under 18 (or the age of majority where you live) you may play, but create an account only with a parent's or guardian's permission, who thereby accepts these terms on your behalf.

2. Accounts

• Crosswold creates a guest profile on your device. Linking an account (email or Google) keeps that profile's progress so it can be used on other devices and unlocks Trophy Road and the board Studio.
• One person, one account. Do not create extra accounts to manipulate rankings, evade limits, or get around a suspension.
• Keep your password safe. Whatever happens through your account is your responsibility; tell us if you suspect it has been misused.
• You can delete your account at any time from Settings. What happens to your data is explained in the Privacy Policy.

3. Playing fair

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use Crosswold under these terms. You agree not to:

• use bots, scripts, automation or third-party tools to play, answer, or queue for duels;
• try to obtain answers outside the game, exploit bugs, or tamper with timing and scoring;
• overload, probe or disrupt the servers or other players, or access parts that are not meant for you;
• reverse-engineer, copy or redistribute the app, the arenas, the mascots or any other Crosswold asset;
• use a nickname, avatar or board to harass, deceive or impersonate others.

In a duel, leaving the game is a forfeit; clocks do not stop when a connection drops. Our server decides results, scores, trophies and rankings; its decisions are final, and we may correct or reset results obtained unfairly.

4. Boards made by players

• Yours stays yours. You keep the rights to the boards you create — the title, clues, description and the images you upload.
• A licence to us. By publishing a board you grant us a royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, display, copy, adapt the presentation of, and share that board inside Crosswold and in promoting Crosswold, including after you delete your account — unless you hide the board first. A hidden board is no longer shown to other players; copies may remain in backups for a limited time.
• Your responsibility. You warrant that you have the rights to everything you publish, and that your board does not: break the law; contain hate, threats, harassment or sexual content; expose other people's personal data; copy someone else's copyrighted work or trademark without permission; carry advertising or promotional links without a partner agreement with us; or amount to spam.
• Published boards cannot be edited in place. Changes are published as a new revision; an older version still being played stays available until that game ends.

5. Moderation

Any board can be reported from within the app. We may hide or remove boards, restrict features, or block accounts that break these terms — with notice where possible, and immediately without notice where needed to protect other players. A blocked account can no longer play and its boards are hidden. If you think we got it wrong, contact [email protected].

6. Trophies, rankings and partner boards

• Trophies, points, rankings and arenas are part of the game; they have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged or transferred, and may change as the game evolves.
• Some boards are published with a partner or sponsor and are marked as partner boards. Any reward or offer mentioned on a partner board comes from that partner under its own terms; sample codes and previews are not redeemable offers.

Cosmetic stickers

Sticker packs are optional cosmetic items with no scoring advantage. A pack is a one-time purchase at the price displayed by your app store, or may be awarded as a prize. Sign in before purchasing so ownership can be restored to your account. Payment, pending transactions and refund requests are handled through Apple or Google under their store rules and applicable consumer law. Refunded purchases may lose access; a separately earned prize remains available.

7. Intellectual property

Crosswold, its logo, arenas, mascots, music, designs and software belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. Apart from the licence to play in section 3 and your rights to your own boards in section 4, no other rights are granted.

8. Availability and changes

Crosswold keeps evolving. We may add, change or discontinue features, arenas or modes — including the whole service — at any time, and will try to give notice when a change matters to you. The service may be interrupted for maintenance or for reasons outside our control.

9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Crosswold is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect losses, loss of game data, trophies or rankings, or losses arising from your use of Crosswold. Nothing in these terms limits consumer rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

10. Termination

You can stop at any time by deleting your account. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms. Sections 4, 7, 9 and 11 survive termination.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. Disputes that cannot be settled amicably are brought before the competent courts of Depok, without prejudice to any consumer right in your country to use the remedies available there.

12. Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the new version is posted on this page with its effective date, and material changes are announced in the app. Continuing to play after the effective date means you accept the new terms.
